Project scope:
The water strategy is composed of three pillars, one of which is to optimise the current operating model to improve and uplift WAIO water management performance.
The Water Management Business System (WMBS) has been designed to optimize the current operating model, providing the mechanisms to co-ordinate the WAIO Water Management, to manage interfaces and enable system-wide collaboration and decision making in delivery of WAIO's water objectives both in terms of Operations and Social Value in accordance with the WAIO Water Strategy.
About the Role
In this position, you will have the opportunity to showcase your problem-solving, project management, engagement and communication skills whilst leveraging technical expertise from multiple teams to deliver critical water related improvement projects to enable mining production and sustain water resource management.
The Water Strategy spans the water supply chain for the Western Australian iron ore. Engaging teams from strategic planning to operations as well as project delivery to enable mining optionality, deliver social value and integrate water management into our business. BHP has adopted Water Stewardship as a global company priority.
As a member of the Water Planning team, you will play a key role in developing world-class water management practices that align with the stewardship position.
In this context, you will be a critical player to engage with a multitude of teams across all sites and functions in WAIO, act as a change agent to problem solve, influence, project manage and deliver some key projects related to the water strategy that will have direct benefits to the WAIO performance.
In this role you will:
- Lead process & business improvement, manage delivery and ensure sustainable changes through the teams
- Collaborate with technical and operational groups in multiple functions and teams
- Rapidly and effectively navigate through ambiguity and distil the problem into a clear structure to guide the team
- Communicate and engage through impactful and synthesised story line at all levels of the organisation
- Embed the changes into our processes for a sustainable outcome
- Report WAIO performance on a quarterly basis to Steering Committee
