The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) is the national agency responsible for administering the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (National Scheme) in partnership with 15 National Boards for the regulated health professions.
This is a full time, opportunity that is based in either Melbourne or Sydney working a hybrid (2 office days) arrangement.
The National Director - IT Service Management and Operations plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of reliable, seamless, and transparent IT services that foster trust among stakeholders. Acting as the primary escalation point for critical issues and decisions, the National Director is responsible for developing and implementing a transformative strategy for the Service Management and Operations function. This includes creating a strategic plan aligned with the broader objectives of Ahpra and its directorate, as well as establishing a robust governance framework. The role emphasises building collaborative relationships both internally and externally, particularly with key vendors, to support strategic priorities. Additionally, the National Director will enhance the professionalism of IT Service Management capabilities, oversee service delivery through quality assurance and performance metrics, and manage operational costs within an approved budget. Ultimately, this position is crucial in driving the maturity of IT services and aligning them with the organization’s goals.

- Develop and implement a transformative strategy for IT Service Management and Operations, ensuring alignment with Ahpra's overarching goals.
- Create and deliver a robust governance framework for IT service delivery, incorporating quality assurance practices and performance metrics.
- Foster strong collaborative relationships with internal teams and external vendors to support strategic priorities and enhance service delivery
- Proactively identify key risks and develop effective mitigation strategies to ensure operational resilience and reliability.
- Oversee operational costs against an approved budget, maximizing team productivity and ensuring efficient day-to-day service delivery.
