About the Role

Reporting to the Risk and Assurance Lead, the Risk and Assurance Specialist is accountable for establishing and maintaining a disciplined governance and regulatory compliance system for Gas assets. The role will influence and provide specialist advice and expertise to senior leaders in adopting a best practice approach to governance and compliance management, consistent with AGL’s governance, risk and compliance frameworks.

What you’ll be doing:
- Facilitate the implementation of policies, standards and systems within AGL Operations in accordance with AGL’s governance frameworks.- Manage compliance databases, dashboards, tracking tools and auditing tools as needed.- Monitor the changing regulatory landscape and advise key stakeholders of impending compliance requirements or risks, including conducting regulatory impact assessments for the business unit.- Develop, monitor and report on assurance activities for identified compliance obligations- Provides support for the administration of the Asset Risk Management System.- Conduct asset risk reviews and provides monthly reports on the status of asset risk reviews.- Supports the Training and Competency Lead by providing direction, advice and guidance on T&C policies, procedures, processes, systems, initiatives, and legislation in alignment with relevant AGL policies.- Supports and provides feedback on the Technical Competency (TC) standard.- Review and report on HSE actions that are past due and/or could have a potential to cause a non-compliance to a compliance obligation.- Provide support for business unit personnel to assist them in closing safety related actions.- Facilitate better practices in compliance and governance management and assist in ensuring that operational and asset management strategies deal effectively with compliance obligations.- Support and drive initiatives aimed at managing material compliance risks and identify improvement opportunities to help the business drive towards target zero.- Provide specialist compliance and governance services on new projects and growth initiatives.- Build effective working relationships with AGL Health, Safety and Environmental staff to jointly ensure that relevant HSE compliance obligations are understood, communicated and managed.- Assist in the monitoring and reporting of assurance activities for identified compliance obligations

About You

You are a self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the understanding of compliance management in Australia, with a attention detail on project management principles.

What you’ll bring to the table:
- Relevant experience with Risk and Compliance Management Systems.- Experience in working with AS/NZ/ISO documents including:
- AS/NZ/ISO 31000 Risk Management- AS/NZ/ISO10006 Quality Management Systems - Projects- ISO 19600 Compliance Management Systems- Experience in implementing quality management methods and techniques.- Experience with internal auditing.- Experience in gas and/or renewable energy is desirable.- Interpersonal skills with high quality written and verbal communications skills.- Effective stakeholder engagement and project management skills- Exceptional customer service- Strong analytical and conceptual skills.- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
