Are you looking for part time work in a dynamic and innovative arts, culture and education organisation dedicated to telling the story of Victorian Aboriginal peoples and communities? Look no further. Reporting to the Education and Visitor Experience Manager, the Koorie Heritage Trust is currently recruiting First Nations Education Facilitators to deliver our industry respected cultural competency and safety workshops on a casual basis.

This is an Aboriginal Designated Position, classified under “special measures” of section 12 of the _Equal Opportunity Act_ 2010. **Only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are eligible to apply.**

The Education Facilitator is responsible for assisting in:

- contributing to the development and delivery of the KHT’s learning programs and services including but not limited to:

- Building Aboriginal Cultural Competency (BACC) training workshops
- Cultural Safety in the Workplace workshops
- Cultural talks (guest speaking and panel talks) and programs for corporates, Government departments and other not for profit organisations
- schools curriculum support and program development for educators that embeds cross cultural priorities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, country and culture
- professional development program for educators

More generally, the Education Facilitator will:

- support the Education and Visitor Experience Manager to review and update where necessary the content of the KHT’s learning programs, specifically the KHT’s BACC and Cultural Safety in the Workplace programs
- support the building of opportunities that will increase the KHT’s revenue stream generated by its learning programs including specifically its BACC and Cultural Safety in the Workplace programs
- support the building of strategic partnerships that contribute to the KHT’s learning programs
- all other duties as directed by the CEO and Education and Visitor Experience Manager, within the scope of the employee’s skill level and training

The role requires an understanding (or an interest in acquiring an understanding) and commitment to the support, promotion and celebration of Victorian Aboriginal culture and heritage. Additionally, you will also bring to the role:

- excellent presentation, client service and interpersonal skills
- excellent oral communications skills
- ability to manage emotive conversations and topics related to culture and identity
- ability to develop and maintain a safe learning environment for yourself and clients/participants
- ability to communicate across diverse cultural groups

We will provide you with practical on the job training to enable you to gain the knowledge required to deliver the identified programs and workshops and to support you in your role.

This role sits within our Education and Visitor Experience Team reporting to the Education and Visitor Experience Manager.
