About the role
- An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Group Compliance & Governance Advisor to develop and execute on a program of work to continuously improve on compliance, governance and reporting outcomes across the enterprise and to develop and maintain strong working relationships across AGL’s compliance network in order to drive a positive and proactive compliance culture across the organisation.

Key purpose of this role (and team)

The Group Compliance & Governance Advisor reports to the Group Compliance Manager and is responsible for working with the Group Compliance & Governance team to develop and implement AGL’s compliance frameworks, report to the Board on the organisation’s compliance management activities and associated risks, administer AGL’s compliance management technology and provide compliance advisory services.

What you’ll be doing
- Proactively working to embed the principles, requirements and objectives of AGL’s Compliance Framework across all business areas in order to drive capability and maturity uplift in first line compliance practices.- Providing practical and pragmatic advice to the business to mature and continuously improve on compliance systems, reporting and processes.- Facilitating regular reporting over AGL’s state of compliance, which includes evaluating progress against compliance plans, following-up on non-conformances, near misses and remediation actions.- Developing, delivering and improving upon AGL’s enterprise Compliance Policies, Standards and principles to ensure that AGL’s Compliance Framework provides appropriate oversight over AGL’s statement of compliance.

What we need from you
- Sound understanding of Compliance Management and Risk Management frameworks/practices from working in other large companies (knowledge of ISO 37301 and ISO 31000 required).- Sound knowledge of the three lines of defence model- Strong communication skills, including verbal and written communication skills to stakeholders of various levels across the enterprise.- Strong written skills, with experience drafting Board papers desirable.- Strong focus on delivery and ability to drive positive outcomes.- An ability to use influencing skills to bring about change within and across AGL’s businesses.- “Big 4” experience desirable- Knowledge of the energy industry, key challenges and industry wide risks (desirable, but not necessary).
