**About Us**:
Racing Victoria (RV) is one of Australia’s leading sporting organisations, and the independent governing body of thoroughbred racing in Victoria. We develop, promote and manage the conduct of the racing of thoroughbred horses in Victoria to safeguard its integrity.

We are looking for a suitably qualified Data Analyst
- Data & Insights to join our Digital Transformation & Technology Team.

**About the Opportunity**:
The Data Analyst - Data & Insights is responsible for the facilitation and creation of data modelling requirements and data requests in support of a wide range of business operations and digital platforms.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Help create and maintain data taxonomy’s using your logical data modelling skills and understanding of data.
- Assist in upskilling Data Literacy across the business.
- Research best practices in developing data solutions and recommendations that will be used to drive decisions across the business.
- Support the data engineer in the transformation of raw data and modelling, Validate requirements and user acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate discovery and elaboration activities with relevant stakeholders using data to tell a story.
- Support and/or own creation and refinement of epics and user stories, within an Agile/Scrum delivery framework
- Validate requirements and user acceptance criteria through data reconciliation.
- Keeping up to date with new techniques and technologies.

**About You**:

- Degree qualified in Commerce/Business/Finance/Economics or Data related discipline.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills turning data and information into insights and ability to look beyond the question to identify real opportunities.
- Proven ability to extract and manipulate data and information from business systems using SQL, Python, R.
- AWS Cloud Services knowledge as an advantage
- Experience in analytical research, the development and assessment of business cases, cost/benefit assessments, and an eye for detail.
- Strong communication skills with the willingness and confidence to interact with different areas of the business and senior level management.
- A good understanding of the racing or sporting industry is desirable.
