Media Lead

Racing Victoria (RV) is one of Australia’s leading sporting organisations, and the independent governing body of thoroughbred racing in Victoria. We develop, promote and manage the conduct of the racing of thoroughbred horses in Victoria to safeguard its integrity.

We are looking for a suitably qualified Media Lead to join the team, reporting to the Marketing Manager

**About the Opportunity**:
This is an exciting and rare opportunity for a qualified and experienced Media Lead to join the team. This role is focused on strategising, negotiating, and buying advertising inventory for the brand and key campaign activity which will drive long-term engagement and primacy of the sport

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Manage the media strategies, planning, buying and schedules for our integrated marketing campaigns for the Victorian Spring Racing Carnival, The All-Star Mile, The Festival of Racing and other Victorian thoroughbred racing brand campaigns as required
- Conduct extensive research and assist with identifying the right target audience for specific campaigns and channels, to help devise media buying strategies which will achieve the right level of coverage at the lowest possible prices
- Compare and negotiate rates, ad space and airtime
- Optimise plans and budgets according to the best media mix while staying within budget
- Monitor costs and return on investment (ROI) against key performance indicators of campaigns to make vital adjustments and changes
- Analyse campaign performance and provide data and input with campaign post implementation reviews

**About you**:
You will thrive in a creative, fast paced and hands-on team environment. Some of the skills and experience you will have include:

- degree or qualifications in marketing, advertising, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in media buying, media planning, or advertising fully integrated marketing and brand campaigns
- Extensive experience with media-buying, planning and research, across Australian media channels including but not limited to television, digital, print and audio
- Experience managing and liaising with external suppliers, contractors, agencies, and designers on all marketing collateral
- Interest in following advertising and media trends
- Attention to detail with the ability to visually communicate data
