
Purchasing Officer

Diplomatik are currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join one of our leading manufacturing clients based in Cardiff, NSW.
The position is an ongoing position with great long-term opportunities for the right person and is starting immediately.
**Responsibilities**
- Undertake daily purchasing activities including the creation and expediting of purchase orders
- Conduct regular reviews and tracking of orders through to delivery into the warehouses, actioning orders as required to ensure on time delivery and maintain
- Working with warehouse employees in the resolution of delivery discrepancies
- Compliance with purchasing policies and procedures, implementing corrective actions
- Identify and mitigate risk relating to quality, cost, delivery and supply of purchases, escalating as required
- Participate in performance improvement programs for suppliers and vendors in collaboration with Procurement
- Participate in continuous improvement of purchasing processes in line with changing organisational needs and market conditions
- Participate in vendor and supplier selection process based on price, quality, support, capacity and reliability in collaboration with Procurement
- Ensure timely escalation of issues to operational and business unit management
**Required**:
- Well-developed administrative skills
- Knowledge and understanding of common office procedures
- Strong experience with Microsoft computer packages
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Effective communication style to engage with customers and other employees
- Ability to manage project deliverables
