**About the organisation**
The Professional Boxing and Combat Sports Board (Board) regulates the professional boxing and combat sports industry in Victoria. The Board oversees an exciting and growing sector and is charged with promoting safety and upholding industry integrity. Attached to the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions, within its Sport, Tourism and Events group, the Board is governed by an Act and the Chair is appointed by the Minister, alongside skills-based Board members as defined in the governing Act.

**About the role**
The Chair oversees advice, reporting and decision-making, focussing on good governance, the licence scheme, and the mechanics of the sport, including promotions, locations and conduct of officials. The Chair is the public face of the Board, leads meetings, sub-committees and attends a variety of formal and other meetings, including industry events. Strategic thinking and regulatory reform are priorities for the coming term. The Chair and Board members are part-time and supported by the Department. Remuneration is annually based, and the time commitments vary, noting that some evenings and weekends may be involved.

**About you**
You are an experienced Chair of governance Boards or have experience working with similar structures in highly changeable and complex contexts. Well credentialed (ideally with qualifications in in law, health or business), you have a focus on best practice in regulation, decision making and continuous improvement. Known for your influence and clear, well targeted communications, your experience at executive level in complex, stakeholder rich environments in similar contexts is complemented by your agility and ability to adapt. A persuasive communicator, you are confident in public engagement with different audiences. You are enthused by the challenge and possibilities to lead a Board and shape the next phase for this important sport.
