About the role
Expressions of interest are sought from individuals who have:
- Experience as a Chair of a Board of Directors.
- Business acumen and expertise preferably in small to medium enterprises or not-for-profit organisations.
- Governance knowledge and experience in best-practice corporate governance structures, policies and processes, particularly in the not-for-profit health or health related organisation would be useful.
- Leadership skills and experience and a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships of mutual respect with Board members and to work constructively with a CEO, staff and volunteer members of Board sub-committees and organisational advisory groups.
- Strategic expertise with the ability to develop and review strategy through constructive questioning and suggestion and contribute to the effective decision-making of the Board.
- An understanding of a Chair and director's responsibilities (including risk and compliance oversight) -understanding not only the role's individual legal duties and responsibilities but also the ethical, fiduciary and financial responsibilities of the Board.
