About the Role

JOB OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a strong Investment Benchmark Data Systems Analyst to play a key role, deliver solutions to our business partners, solve complex problems, and strive to advance and sustain a world-class platform. This position requires strong analytical skills, with a high attention to detail, and a desire to analyze and solve complex problems. This individual must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work on a variety of assignments with people across the organization. Excellent organization, communication, and delivery skills are required. This individual must be a team player with a desire and willingness to learn.

The Investment Benchmark Data Systems Analyst role on the Performance & Benchmark - Enterprise Data Services Team utilizes proprietary and vendor-based systems to create and maintain official and custom security level indices with a focus on daily operational and systems oversight to ensure accurate data for use in the investment process.

This is a blended role across Technology and Business Operations with visibility into how the Firm uses benchmark information as part of the investment process. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Analyst to join a strong, collaborative, global, and blended data operations and engineering team in a role focusing on data analysis with leadership and advancement opportunities. The individual will be responsible for daily operational and systems oversight in the Asia Pacific region, including defining requirements for enhancements and workflow improvements, data analysis and triage on our Performance and Benchmarks team.

The Analyst will work closely with internal departments including Portfolio Management, Investment Products & Fund Strategies, and other functional areas across the firm to provide analysis and guidance on benchmark related inquiries and business issues. This individual must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work on a variety of assignments with people at all levels of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop deep understanding of our index data providers and their calculation methodologies.- Develop detailed knowledge of how the Firm uses benchmark information and its impact on the investment process and client reporting-
- Act as regional escalation point person for data questions and operational issues that require detailed analysis and management until resolution- Improve processes, workflow, and cross-functional communication- Champion for the needs of the business partners and a develop into a trusted advisor- Work with global fixed income and equity index providers to resolve ad-hoc and custom requests originating from our business partners- Improve and develop quality controls and decrease operational and financial risk- Develop a strong partnership with the delivery team to ensure on time, scalable and high-quality business solutions- Provide input into system design to help the programming teams define effort and implementation schedules- Work closely with Portfolio Management, Product Management and Client Relationship Management on benchmark interpretation requirements, performance, and attribution reporting- Ensure quality of product by enforcing high standards in testing and building audit/validation controls

QUALIFICATIONS- 5 years of relevant work experience as an operational analyst in the financial services industry- 5 years of experience conducting business operations data analysis and/or systems analyst- Strong knowledge of relational database technologies with SQL skills and/or knowledge of Python or other scripting language- Willingness to work across both Technology and Business Operation functions in a fast-paced, and team-oriented environment while managing conflicting priorities- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to write technical documentation- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail- Strong client relationship ski
