Purpose of the role
The role reports to the Senior Analyst, Investment Data team and is responsible for supporting front office investment management processes, maintaining data integrity within core operational business systems, and continually improving services with Custodians, Administrators and Data Providers.
The primary purpose of this role will be support other analysts in the team, perform activities relating to integrity of data loaded and maintained within AMP’s data management platform (Eagle Pace) /data warehouse and trading platforms (Charles River / Aladdin), inclusive of reconciliation processes required to be performed accurately and on a timely basis.
The position will also be responsible for day-to-day compliance with AMP Policy, which may include verification of asset prices provided by the Administrator/Custodian and operating and maintaining valuation models.
Main focus areas:
- Provide support in completing the following activities with high-level of accuracy, completeness and on a timely basis.
- Data Quality and Management:
- Receipt and validation of market data received from data vendor sources inclusive of static data and end of day pricing;
- Modification of data recorded within the security master and data warehouse and other in-house systems.
- Set up and validation of new fund, product, portfolio and security static data within strategic systems.
- TLM Reconciliations:
- Reconciliation of positions, trades and entitlements using Smart Stream TLM and the investigation of data errors and anomalies to ensure resolution in a timely manner.
- Identify any potential incorrect positions for a portfolio and notify the business unit/s accordingly before 10 am or earliest market open daily.
- Instigate investigation and resolution of unreconciled items on the day identified and follow up until resolved.
- Ensure meaningful and current notes are maintained within TLM.
- Valuations and Asset Pricing:
- Operate valuation models and provide output to the front office for sign off;
- Review and investigation of items detailed on pricing reports;
- Assist Administrator/Custodian with pricing of assets through engagement with internal and external stakeholders; and
- Respond to escalations from our primary service provider.
- Substantial Shareholding Notifications:
- Validate generated Notices by performing review of data to ensure accuracy;
- Provide reporting to external parties (Australia only); and
- Contribute to the scoping, designing and developing of efficiencies and improvements to the Data Management (DM) function, systems and processes.
- Contribute to the DM objectives by meeting and/or exceeding customer, business and personal targets;
- Provide support in maintaining a continuous improvement mindset and eliminating risks to the business created through non-adherence to policies and procedures.
- Provide support to team members, contributing to and maintaining a positive work environment; ensuring knowledge is shared.
- Provide support to the front office investment management processes and liaise effectively with external/internal service providers.
- Endeavour to develop one’s own business knowledge by taking on appropriate training courses to facilitate continuing improvements.
- Ensure compliance with the organisation’s policies and procedures.
