**The Role**
As the Information Security Analyst you are expected to have a broad range of cyber security, policy and/or ICT system administration skills, experience and knowledge to equip you for the responsibilities of the role.
The role itself entails various duties including but not limited to, researching and providing advice, guidance, assistance and leadership on contemporary Australian Government and Defence cyber and protective security policies; and the development and maintenance of cyber security related policies specific to Defence.
Duties of the role may also include:
- The development, deployment, documentation and management of security policies, procedures, standards, and strategies
- Develop and, where applicable, monitor, direct, correct and report on implementation of policy and procedural outcomes to provide assurance of compliance and/or achievement of policy intent
- Conducting research, analysing and interpreting information from various sources to inform cyber security policy considerations
- Manage and Audit the Network assess requests at HQ Army Aviation Command
- Support Army Aviation Command senior leadership to monitor, direct and correct - all aspects of standalone system security
- Undertake security assessments on complex technical ICT issues and formulate timely and accurate advice to army aviation executives

This position will require occasional travel to visit and provide guidance to Army Aviation Units.
**About our Team**
At the Army Aviation Command our mission is deliver an aviation capability to support Army. The security team directly supports the mission by ensuring the protective, information and cyber security risks are effectively managed across the Army Aviation Command.
The security team works collaboratively with all stakeholders within the Command and Army. Its purpose is to influence and strengthen the security posture of Army Aviation Command through provision of leadership, guidance, direction and, the proactive identification, analysis and remediation, or mitigation, of vulnerabilities. The team provides leadership, direction, governance and management services for capability security
- The ability to technically understand Australian Government protective security policies and provide guidance, advice and direction to a diverse user, practitioner and executive base
- An understanding of Australian Cyber Security frameworks and standards
- Experience working in a Cyber Security discipline or in security policy development
- Practical experience in ICT system security would be advantageous
- Strong critical thinking skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in producing clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation
- Proactive nature and ability to anticipate issues in the sector or with stakeholders to ensure success and resolve problems
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
