**The Role & The Team**
As a member of the Airservices Cyber Security team within the Chief Technology Enablement Office, this role enables the effective delivery of day-to-day cyber security activities within cyber operations, governance and/or security solutions engineering space.
This role requires a passionate professional keen to develop and grow, with sound knowledge of the current cyber threat landscape and strong willingness to develop within the field of cyber security. You will be required to
support delivery of enterprise cyber security operations and governance capability; supporting analysis of security events of interest or identifying an opportunity for tuning and using defensive measures and information collected from a variety of sources including external partners.
This is a technical hands-on role requiring strong demonstrated technical skills.
This position involves supporting critical duties and responsibilities that must continue to be performed during crisis situations and contingency operations, which may at times require extended hours of work, working on weekends or working after hours. At times, interstate travel may be required.
As the Cyber Operations Officer, you will be required to support provision of cyber incident threat analysis and response capability. Working as part of a team you will contribute to successfully implement the security operations capability including incident/threat detection and response capability.
You will be required to:
- Review and respond to allocated cyber security engagements.
- Support incident response investigations
- Manage and respond to cyber events of Interest escalations
- Working with external partners to assist with delivery of enterprise security projects, initiatives and capabilities.
- Maintain situation awareness of cyber threat landscape
- Analyze and respond to Zero-day threats and security vulnerabilities.
- Develop and execute different security related procedures.
- Investigate, document, and report on information security issues and emerging trends.
- Provide threat and vulnerability analysis as well as security advisory services.
- Support and contribute to development and maintaining of documentation artefacts
- Review security related change requests and assess against organisational risk.
- Monitoring mailboxes and responding to client requests and questions involving Information Security.
- Support delivering information security advice and other BAU services services, ensuring at all times that a quality solution is being delivered within expected timeframes
- Contribute to security risk assessments and other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
**The Person**
As a Cyber Operations Officer you will have:
- An inherent passion for cyber security and service excellence.
- Experience in a customer-facing technical or security support environments
- Strong aptitude to develop and implement cyber defence strategies, in a large and complex organizations (IT and OT context)
- Demonstrated skills to prepare business friendly incident and threat reports
- Knowledge for building out and managing cyber threat detection and response capabilities for organizations, including open source and paid technologies.
Desirable attribute would be:
- ICT or information security tertiary or industry certifications
- Cyber Security industry certifications will be highly regarded.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to set clear objectives and monitor performance.
**Security Clearance**
