**About the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations**

Finance Branch, which sits within the Finance and Budget Division of DEWR and supports the Finance Branch Manager and the Chief Financial Officer in managing the finances of the department.

The Financial Performance component of the Financial Governance and Performance section is responsible for the management of the department’s internal resource allocation function, budgeting, forecasting and the reporting of financial management information to the Executive and business stakeholders.

**The Role**
Reporting to the Director of Financial Governance and Performance, the Assistant Director of Financial Performance plays a key role in managing the internal resource allocation process for the department, in line with the department’s internal budgeting policy, reporting of financial management information to the Executive and business stakeholders and administering the department’s budgeting, forecasting and reporting system TM1 to ensure the availability of quality, accurate and timely financial management information and reports.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the **EL1** may include:

- Develop and manage internal budgeting and financial reporting, policies, frameworks, processes and systems.
- Provide timely, accurate and quality strategic focused financial management information and advice that contributes to the priorities of the department and supports decision making.
- Ability to analyse complex data and also present data to stakeholders in a format that meets their needs.
- Manage the development, enhancement and administration of the budgeting, forecasting and reporting system TM1.
- Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships and support collaborative engagement.
- Manage and support team and develop capability.

**Qualifications and Education**
- Demonstrated internal budgeting experience.
- Demonstrated financial reporting experience.
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Accounting.
- Working towards or completed post graduate qualifications (CPA/CA) highly desirable.
