**The Role**
The Community Engagement Directorate deliver a number of programs and services to assist Defence families and their communities. The EL1 Assistant Director Community Engagement will be accountable for the ongoing administration of processes and procedures in support of these family support programs including operational, procedural, administrative, and business support tasks such as stakeholder engagement, compliance and business reporting.

The position is also required to think strategically about the range of possible support opportunities for Defence members and their families to support the ongoing improvement of community engagement initiatives and programs for Defence Member and Family Support Branch.

**About our Team**
The team is small and highly efficient, in delivering governance, funding and support to Defence families and organisations that support Defence families and their communities.

The team works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes in support of Defence members, their families and the Defence community as well as builds and sustains effective relationships with team members across a regionally based workforce.
