Working within the Mint’s Sales Development Team, the Data Analyst plays a critical role by leveraging data to inform decision making, drive insights and support the achievement of the Mint’s organisational objectives. They work under limited supervision to provide market analysis and deliver evidence based advice. Through collecting, analysing, cleaning and interpreting data, the Data Analyst produces reports, forecasts and recommendations, contributing to how product sales are managed across the Mint.
The Data Analyst manages key data related projects, in particular developing and delivering the annual sales budget, to inform key stakeholders of the planned revenue position of the Mint. They regularly find ways to continuously improve processes and procedures to achieve strategic objectives.
The duties of this position include:
1. Collecting and analysing sales, production and competitor data, including:
a. cleaning, validating and interpreting data from a variety of sources;
b. conducting quantitative data analysis to identify sales drivers, trends, patterns and anomalies;
c. supporting product leads to develop budgets, and aggregating budgets into overall business projections
d. using statistical and data visualisation techniques to present findings.
2. Developing high level comprehensive documentation including business requirements, sales forecasts, user guides and dashboards to present data-driven insights and translate complex data into actionable advice or recommendations.
3. Developing templates, supporting product leads to develop budgets, and aggregating inputs to inform the planned revenue position of the Mint for key stakeholders including the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer and the Treasury.
4. Supporting working sessions to engage and collaborate with key stakeholders in identifying reporting requirements, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes.
5. Developing and managing relationships for cross-functional teams, including IT, to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementations.
6. Conducting risk assessments of sales and budget related data, identifying and reporting on risks as they arise and facilitate actions and recommendations to provide outcomes.
7. Promoting a culture of continuous improvement by reviewing existing processes and proposing innovative solutions to align with our strategic direction.
8. Ensuring compliance with regulatory, departmental and Treasury reporting requirements.
**Qualification**
A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or a relevant field.
**Security clearance**
This position requires a **Baseline** security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
