**The position**:
RES Australia is a wholly owned subsidiary of RES Group, the world’s largest independent renewable energy company with a 23GW global portfolio of wind, solar and storage assets. Active in Australia since 2004, with offices in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, our business is focused in 4 areas: wind, solar and storage development and construction/asset management. Over the last 4 years, the Australian renewables market has expanded rapidly, and the RES team has grown to over 100 staff.

Reporting into the Senior Commercial Manager, the Commercial Manager will help shape the commercial approach the business takes and ultimately lead the realization of the value of the project pipeline by working alongside our Development Managers to ensure that RES’ wind, solar and storage projects are structured effectively, bankable and valuable.

Leadership and Governance
- This role will demonstrate outstanding collaboration skills, leadership and self-awareness, with the aim to help promote a high-performance culture.
- Develop working relationships at all levels in the organisation including with Executive Leadership Team.
- Maintain networks and relationships with key energy industry representatives and external stakeholders.
- Guide and mentor other members of the commercial team and foster a team identity that is aligned to our corporate culture and values.

Commercial and Financial Management
- Lead and manage the commercial requirements for the project closing processes, including the project management of the closing process.
- Ensure the closing process is well managed, with clear and robust project management of all project stream / deliverables, including implementing effective management plans for key commercial and project risks.
- Lead the review of the key bankability concerns that wind, solar and storage projects face when in the early, medium and final stages of development.
- Gradually become an expert on the key project documents (EPC, O&M, Grid, PPA, Share Sale Agreements, Syndicated Facility Agreements) in order to ensure the contracts speak to each other and contain terms that will be acceptable to equity and debt partners.
- Attend key external negotiations of key project documents.
- Work with the Senior Commercial Manager to take ownership of all of the contractual and commercial gaps between the key project documents in order to ensure the project has a bankable position to take to market.
- Oversight of business case development, provision of commercial support across the business to progress new opportunities and ensure appropriate commercial frameworks are in place. Ensure Business Case and supporting documentation is robust and targeted, well received by Board and supports transparent, effective decision making with respect to key investment decisions
