The Program Manager (Career Start) is responsible for overseeing and managing the successful development, delivery and monitoring of Victoria's Career Start program. The Career Start Manager leads a central team driving the program's development and delivery, as well as coordinating with regionally-based implementation teams and executives. They provide guidance and strategic support throughout the program lifecycle, as well as ensuring alignment with objectives in the group and across the department. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing team in Workforce Policy and Strategy Division.

**About the Department**
- The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
- The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.

**About the Division**
- Career Start is a structured development program which improves the experience of graduate teachers as they are inducted into the profession. Career Start provides a range of supports to graduate teachers and their mentors to accelerate the development of graduate teachers' professional practice, support their wellbeing, and increase retention.

**About the Role**
- The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the successful development and delivery of the program. This is a fixed term role until 31 December 2026. Key responsibilities include: provision of strategic policy advice and analysis to influence program development; implementing efficient and effective program management approaches; maintaining strong governance and reporting; overseeing robust procurement and contract management processes; collaboration with regions to achieve policy and implementation fidelity and build consistency across regions, while allowing for adaptation to local contexts; overseeing strong monitoring and evaluation processes.
