**The role**: Reporting to the Payroll Manager and working alongside several other fantastic Payroll Officers, you will take over the weekly Payroll for a particular division of the business.

Your duties will include:

- Processing and payment of weekly payroll, including the payment of commissions and bonuses to retail staff
- Liaising with the brand/s to ensure Timesheets are completed on time and accurately
- Entering all payroll-related transactions into the accounting system
- Processing leave entitlements, overtime, termination payments, and employee deductions
- Maintaining the accuracy of payroll records and databases, including setting up new employee records via the onboarding system.
- Ensuring alterations and amendments to wages and salaries are completed and paid promptly
- Calculating, processing, and payment of monthly payroll taxes in relevant states. Reconciliation, payment, and reporting of annual payroll tax returns.
- Ensuring accurate and timely preparation and payment of worker’s compensation returns, claims, and annual statutory workers' compensation reporting requirements. Updating worker’s compensation policies when new locations begin trading
- Processing and payment of monthly superannuation contributions
- Maintaining the online superannuation database and management of superannuation policies
- Management of Super stream and set up
- Reconciliation of cost-centered wages, superannuation, commissions, bonuses, and taxation records
- Preparation and payment of statutory PAYG tax by the legally prescribed dates
- Calculation, entry, and payment of monthly payroll tax for each relevant state
- Resolving and answering payroll-related queries. (in a timely manner)
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding salaries and wages by ensuring the security of payroll information
- Completing the correct internal forms as required
- Preparation of management reports based on information within the payroll and accounting system
- Offer assistance and back up and support for Payroll Manager

As Payroll Officer you are considered an extension and "family member" of the employees themselves and will need to build close relationships with your allocated retail brand and their employees alike. Strong customer service skills are a key element to success in this role.

We are looking for:

- 3+ years in a busy payroll environment
- Experience running a weekly payroll
- A strong sense of customer service, ideally having worked in an environment with a large volume of queries
- A positive, helpful attitude and willingness to go the extra mile without prompting
- The desire to LEARN is critical
- A good sense of humor and a smile right through the day is also helpful
