**Your Opportunity**:
Provide leadership to support team operations and project teams in undertaking high level analysis, design, review and implementation of infrastructure and planning related systems, policies, projects and programs of work.
Provide strategic advice to the division executives, senior management and departmental stakeholders across a range of infrastructure, planning and asset management issues.
**About the Role**:
The Principal Facilities Services Officer, Maintenance and Improvement will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
Develop, review and monitor strategies, policies and guidelines for the enhancement of the division's maintenance program.
Develop policies and strategies to make sure that maintenance programs are aligned with key departmental and ISD initiatives, including the Infrastructure for Learning plan.
Use data from the Asset Life Cycle Assessment process to develop long-term strategies for investment in maintenance
Lead a small team responsible for developing strategies to improve the planning and delivering of the department's maintenance programs.
Develop and implement systems to manage the department's asset maintenance function.
Lead the development, management and delivery of the department's school maintenance programs.
Provide high level strategic advice on the development of asset maintenance policies that will contribute to lifecycle planning of the department's assets.
Lead and coordinate the production of regular, high level quality reports for internal and external clients.
Prepare and coordinate ministerial correspondence and briefing material and reports relating to the department's maintenance programs and facilities operation, and provide input to policy development.
To undertake duties in this role an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.

Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to utilise these skills to improve policies and processes to ensure that organisational objectives are achieved.
Effective communication, consultation and negotiation skills with a proven ability to meet client needs and foster and maintain mutually productive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff to participate in organisational change activities.
