Founded in 1886, MLC School is an independent, nonselective Uniting Church school for girls from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 in Sydney’s inner-west. Our tagline ‘dare to be more’ is not only our goal for our students, it applies equally to our staff.

Our highly professional staff, under the guidance of Principal Ms Lisa Moloney, challenge girls and encourage them to question traditional perceptions and roles of women.

**About the position**

As an After School Study Support Mentor you are responsible for providing support to students in attendance at sessions and providing strategies for them to become independent learners. You will monitor and support students throughout their study session to ensure they are focused on their learning. You will also run small group activities within the session focused on specific skills, knowledge or preparation for upcoming tasks as identified by the needs of the students in attendance. You will also provide one to one support for students throughout the session as required.

**Selection Criteria**:

- A degree in a relevant field of study (or working towards this).
- Experience working within a school environment as a teacher, or preservice teacher an advantage.
- Expertise in English, Mathematics or Science is highly desirable but not essential.
- Current First Aid Qualifications
- A current NSW Working with Children’s Check
- Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
- CPR and First Aid Certification
