The Company
Swick Mining Services is Australia’s largest Underground Diamond Drilling Contractor with the most innovative and reliable rigs in the industry.
Due to recent and predicted company growth, an opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced Purchasing Officer to join our team at South Guildford.

The Role
Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, you will be responsible for the delivery of all purchasing activities, ensuring that they are conducted to industry best practice and in line with Swick protocols.

**Responsibilities also include but are not limited to**:

- Support the demand of the business for Products and Services within expected timelines
- Procure Products and Services for Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams
- Source Products, Services and Suppliers when required
- Coordinate New Vendor Process
- Support & Guide Stakeholders to ensure procedures are followed and governed
- Ensure strong Stakeholder Engagement is maintained and timely updates of outstanding orders are imparted
- Ensure designated Suppliers provide Weekly Backorder Reporting
- Ensure timely follow up of Purchase Orders, and source alternate options to meet demand as needed
- Using QlikSense, Navision & Supplier Reporting to review purchasing activity
- Manage Vendor Supply Issues
- Manage returns via reverse logistics
- Coordinate freight movements as required to support the business needs
- Timely processing of documentation to support the Supply Team and other Departments
- Be actively involved in Perth Stocktakes
- 3-5 years previous experience in a similar role
- Previous experience in technical sourcing, procurement and expediting
- Effective vendor relationship and influencing skills
- Stakeholder management experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills - especially in Excel
- Strong negotiation skills
- Previous experience in the Mining/Production industry - desirable
