**What are we looking for?**

We are seeking a** **General Hand/Trades Assistant to join our Maintenance Team at our Edinburgh North production facility on either a full time or part time basis. We are a hands-on team providing breakdown and preventative maintenance support to production plant and equipment, including retail stores as required.

**Your responsibilities (not limited to)**:

- Assist with general maintenance tasks and housekeeping requirements around the factory.
- Support the team with repairs and breakdowns of production machinery in a timely and effective manner.
- Improve unplanned downtime with planned maintenance activities and a preventative maintenance approach.
- Assist with the implementation of maintenance programs to support production requirements.
- Comply with relevant safety standards and quality assurance practices and ensure execution of these standards are part of all repairs and maintenance activities.
- Identify and escalate Workplace Safety, Food Safety and Quality issues, hazards and risks.

**To achieve success in this role, you will need**:

- Previous experience working in a similar role.
- Previous experience working in food manufacturing or FMCG, desirable.
- Ability and experience working on a wide range of maintenance tasks, including welding, fault finding, repairs and maintenance, preferred.
- Can work as part of a team supporting trade qualified team members.
- Organised & proactive self-starter with a creative / innovative problem-solving attitude.
- Understanding of Work Health and Safety procedures and requirements.

**Licenses and Qualifications**:

- Hold a current driver’s license and reliable transport
- Forklift licence or willing to obtain
- Elevated Work Platform licence or willing to obtain
