CASUAL SUPPORT WORKER

Position Title: Support Worker

Work type: Casual

Department: Client Services

Location: North Eastern, North, Southern, Western, Eastern, Inner Adelaide.

Reports to: Management team

Direct reports: Nil

Help at Home has been supporting vulnerable people in the community for over 30 years. We are passionate about enabling people to remain as independent as possible in their own homes with a focus on personalised support.

Our clients often have complex physical and/or degenerative conditions requiring more intensive and/or hands-on support for personal care and other activities of daily living.

**Who we are looking for**

Our clients value engaging support workers who show initiative, demonstrate good listening skills and focus on how the client likes things to be done.

Attention to detail, diligent compliance and open communication is a key requirement of the role.

The ability to develop good client relationships whilst maintaining strong professional boundaries.

You must be comfortable working with technology for reporting and note taking.

We have a variety of shift options available, including shorter shifts (1 to 2 hours), as well as overnight active, semi-active and sleepover shifts.

On-going, face-to-face training and development covering specialist support areas.

As a not-for-profit organisation we are able to offer salary packaging up to $15,900 per annum.

Minimum Requirements

**Workplace Screenings/Clearances**
- NDIS Worker Screening or current DHS Disability screening
- DHS Working with children check
- Evidence of working rights if not an Australian Citizen
- National Clearance Less than a year old

**Training and qualifications**
- Minimum Cert III in Individual Support, or similar, or demonstrated extensive experience in a disability or aged care setting
- Current First Aid certificate
- Manual handling
- Infection control (HLTINF001 Qualification or equivalent)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module “Quality, Safety and You”
- NDIS Module - “Supporting effective communication”
- NDIS Module - “Supporting safe and enjoyable meals”

**Other**
- Evidence of triple Covid-19 Vaccination
- Driver’s licence
- Licensed and Roadworthy vehicle with insurance
- i-phone compatible with ios version 11 or above **OR** android phone compatible with version 5 or above

**Desirable**
- Current Flu vaccination
- Medication administration
- Safe environments for Children and Young People “Through their Eyes”

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $38.00 - $72.00 per hour
