**The Role**

Reporting into the Managing Editor, World News this role will see you:

- Manage the recruitment, development and performance reviews of our Canberra cross-platform journalist team
- Manage the financial and administrative affairs of the Parliament House bureau
- Liaise daily with the Sydney editorial leadership team to provide daily and longer-term coverage of news events
- Develop and initiate story ideas with the cross-platform journalist team, along with the Chief Political Correspondent (editorial lead)
- Liaise with other media organisations to provide pool and other coverage of events when required
- Provide editorial, logístical and administrative support to newsgathering and technology teams in Canberra
- Assist with providing responses to complaints and audience feedback
- Ensure the content produced reflects our Charter

**About you**
- Knowledge of Parliament House operations highly desirable
- Strong leadership background and capability
- Journalism experience with a broadcast news and current affairs operation
- Strong stakeholder management experience
- Experience in a multi-deadline environment
- Ability generate ideas and share where appropriate with the team.
