**Join the team**
- The Corporate Affairs and Sustainability team are a group of close and passionate professionals that support each other and partner closely with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. This is a senior position that provides strategic and tactical advice about community relations and social impacts to the Kmart Group, including Kmart Australia and New Zealand, Target Australia and KAS Group Asia.**What you’ll be doing**
- As a Head of Community working for Kmart Group you will:
- Strategically develop and implement community programs, champion Indigenous Affairs initiatives and develop campaigns that promote and protect the reputation of the Kmart Group
- Provide direct strategic and tactical support to the Group General Manager Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Kmart and Target CEO's and various other stakeholders across the businesses
- Foster the existing and important community partnerships that we have in place across both businesses
- Ensure that all community program initiatives and campaign activities are aligned to the strategic business objectives and promote key community activities both externally and internally
- Manage and support the Group's Indigenous Affairs Manager in delivering and building on our commitment to First Nations Peoples and culture
- Write and collate data for the Wesfarmers Sustainability Report and Reconciliation Action Plan as well as Audit and Risk Committees

**To be successful in this role you’ll have**:

- Personal resilience, the ability to go above and beyond and engage with all members of the community in a respectful and at times, sensitive way
- Experience working on team member or community programs that are meaningful and impactful to youth in all locations of Australia and New Zealand
- The ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment, where you role model exceptional values and morals when liaising with stakeholders externally and internally
- The ability to build strong rapport quickly with people and understand the social issues and challenges impacting them, in order to handle some conversations with respect and compassion
- Be able to think on your feet and respond quickly to events that impact the communities in which we operate, such as floods, bushfires etc.
- A passion for being an advocate for a variety of social causes and be energised by having a significant impact on people’s lives
- The ability to travel interstate as required
