We have an opportunity to join our Technology and Development space in the role of a Database Administration, Team Leader, on a full time permanent basis. Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for leading the Database Administration team in the provision of maintenance, security and performance of the Retail business’ database systems, to support the achievement of business growth, values and internal and external customer experience objectives.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Providing technical expertise in the development, implementation and maintenance of database systems and processes within the Enterprise Operations
- Assist in the delivery and support of technology solutions to deliver against business objectives and operational needs
- Design, prototype, develop and document new product offerings and enhance existing products and tools, while maintaining a high level of cyber security.
- Proactively develop and implement the overall strategy for the continuous improvement of database administration systems to reduce and mitigate system security risks and enhance the end-user experience.
- Maintain regular and deliberate communication with Enterprise Operations teams and customers to enhance understanding of changing business needs and database priorities.
- Manage and monitor the team's compliance with mandated security policies and procedures.
- 8-10 years experience with Database Systems Operations, and Database structure and theory
- Minimum 5 years experience leading/managing a database team
- Solid, recent experience managing SQL Server Database systems: Integration Services, Analysis Services, PowerBI/Reporting Services and Windows PowerShell.
- Solid, demonstrated experience managing Oracle Database systems in a Unix environment.
- Solid understanding in the practice of ITIL Change and Service management.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. information technology, other analytic thinking fields such as Programming or Development also suitable)
- Experience in Cloud services, RDBMs (i.e Oracle, PostgreSQL, cassandra, MySQL), Network Attached Storage, Windows Server Administration, Unix systems and Networking
