Sydney, Australia Justice Connect Full time

About the role

In this role, you’ll work to
- Support the smooth, timely, and people-centred operation of our new Justice Connect Intake team.
- Working closely with Justice Connect Intake lawyers and under the supervision of the Principal Lawyer, this role ensures that help-seeker inquiries are effectively logged, tracked, and progressed through to referral, while maintaining a high standard of responsiveness and care.
- This is a hands-on role that balances administrative coordination with client-facing interaction. The paralegal is often the first point of contact for people seeking legal help, and
- It plays a vital role in maintaining system accuracy, coordinating and undertaking intake, and supporting high-volume triage and referral workflows. It’s a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a team environment, is open to learning new tools and systems, and is committed to improving access to legal help.

You’ll bring to the team experience in the following areas:

- Client centered approach to supporting a diverse range of people seeking legal support through our intake and triage processes.
- High-quality interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a professional and respectful manner.
- Strong planning and prioritisation skills, effectively managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

Expertise that you may have that would support our team:

- Bachelor of Laws Degree (or final or near-final year student enrolled in Bachelor of Laws/JD), or other relevant qualification or experience.
- Sound computer skills within a legal practice environment (knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics desirable).

A week in this role

If you were here last week, you would have:

- Met with the Principal Lawyer to discuss client intakes and assist with determining eligibility for assistance.
- Supported with the maintenance of inquiry related data to ensure intake systems are accurate and up to date.
- Contributed to continuous improvement efforts of the team by identifying common issues, system gaps, or emerging needs.
- Participated in team planning and feedback activities, and support a collaborative, values-aligned team culture.

Please upload your resume and a cover letter which outlines your skills and experience that will help you achieve success in this role.
