About the role

Lifeblood seeks a National Transport Manager to spearhead the crucial mission of overseeing the transportation of blood and biological products nationwide. In this pivotal role, you will orchestrate a complex logistics network across rural and metropolitan areas, ensuring timely pickups and delivery to capital cities across Australia for processing and delivering our life-saving products to where they’re needed. You'll be responsible for liaising with contractors and suppliers and managing the operational and strategic facets of the transport system.

Leading a team of 4, you'll be instrumental in shaping and implementing the transport strategy, focusing on efficiency and growth. A day in this role would see you:
Supervise the transportation of blood and biological products nationally.

Manage the logistics from donation pickups to processing centres and final delivery.

Lead a team of 4 providing guidance and support.

Liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure seamless operations.

Oversee reporting processes and contribute to the development of transport strategy.

Cultivate a dynamic transport background to drive innovation and efficiency.

Proven experience in active transport and fleet management with a background in logistics, operations, and transport strategy.

Ability to manage reports, contribute to strategic planning and execute national tenders for third-party carrier operations.

A visionary mindset to drive growth in new areas while managing and supporting a team of experts.

Have a deep understanding of technology enablement and current technology tools.

Understanding the requirements for transporting sensitive health products in a Pharmaceutical or Health and Life Sciences sector.

This permanent full-time opportunity reports to the Head of Distribution and can be a hybrid, working from home or in any of our offices nationally
