**About the Section**
The People, Property and Security Section is responsible for providing a wide range of human resources, property, facilities and security services.

**Job specific duties**
This position offers the unique opportunity to support the Human Resources (HR), Property and Security teams, ensuring seamless operations that enhance workplace efficiency, employee experience and overall business success.

Your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- providing on-site support to Melbourne office by maintaining a clean, secure and well-equipped workspace
- coordinating office supplies, repairs, services, contracts, security passes for visitors, new starters and service providers
- building effective relationships with property management providers, vendors and contractors to ensure timely and high-quality services
- actioning requests and providing a general advisory service on property and human resource policies, practices, procedures and routine industrial/HR matters
- championing employee relations by addressing concerns and fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture
- coordinating and supporting processes related to onboarding, performance, work health and safety and cessation
- coordinating learning and development activities to support employees with their professional aspirations.
- enhancing workplace safety by assisting with health and safety initiatives and emergency preparedness plans
- ensuring operational compliance by staying abreast of legislative requirements, NHMRC policies and standards
- provide general security continuity in the Melbourne office at the discretion of the Agency Security Advisor in Canberra, including security incident reporting

**Core capabilities**
- a minimum of three years experience in operational property and facilities management preferably within a government context
- knowledge or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge, of the role and functions to support business priorities
- ability to work in productive partnership to optimise performance and achieve business results
- ability to work with broad supervision and to identify priorities to meet competing deadlines
- very good communication skills and a high level of attention to detail
- ability to resolve inquiries and provide timely advice
- critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- accountability on tasks to contribute to team objectives

**Highly desirable**
Demonstrated knowledge and experience of the following will be highly regarded:

- familiarity with HR systems (Aurion)
- relevant experience and knowledge of HR and WHS approaches and frameworks
- working with whole of government property service providers
- an understanding of the Protective Security Policy Framework
