**Position Information**:
Oxley Park Public School has 640 students enrolled P-6. The school motto of learning together for the future underpins our diverse and welcoming school community. Our school is open and inclusive which is reflected by the culturally diverse population of students identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (10%) and language backgrounds other than English (56%). The school was awarded a Nanga Mai award for outstanding programs to meet Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.

Our dedicated and experienced staff work collaboratively to provide high-quality teaching and learning in well resourced-learning spaces. The school is strongly supported through Instructional leadership with two APCI’s. The school receives extra funds specific to the resource allocation model and are being used to increase staff capacity through targeted teacher and leadership professional learning. The staff participates in Quality Teaching Rounds to continuously reflect on their practice.

The provision of additional learning programs such as Speech Therapy, Bounce Back, Smiling Minds and additional support staff across the school supports the needs of the whole child. The school was awarded a Green Eco-Schools flag for its exceptional commitment to environmental education.

The school has an active P&C that operates the canteen. The school has strong links with the community, in particular working with Mission Australia. This partnership is continuing to develop with events, playgroup, parent courses and whole school activities. The school supports and engages with a Chaplain to support student wellbeing.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.

Proven capacity to engage and inspire P-6 teachers to embrace a shared responsibility for future focussed teaching and learning for all students within a culture of high expectations and engagement.

Innovative, open, approachable and visible leader with demonstrated outstanding interpersonal, organisational and communication skills with a strong commitment to engaging and improving outcomes for staff, parents, students and the wider community.

Proven educational leadership skills supporting the delivery of evidence-based whole school initiatives that focus upon improving quality teaching practices, improved student learning outcomes in Literacy and or Numeracy and enhanced student wellbeing.

Demonstrated ability to lead programs such as music and public speaking across the school.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
