My Core Support is the legal employer of all support workers. We have a responsibility to ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients and the support workers you engage. Under the terms of the Employment Contract, you have with My Core Support.

My Core Support Support Workers are to follow this job description. This will provide an outline of your role as a support worker.

**Position Overview**:
Support workers need to perform tasks for following these general guidelines:

- Assist you with personal care, healthcare, and hygiene. This could be in areas such as dressing, bathing, toileting, and eating.
- Assist you to develop community skills. This could include tasks like budgeting, shopping, cooking, and management of your home.
- Support activities of mobility and transferring, which promote independence. Please make sure you have provided clear instructions so the support worker can undertake this work.4
- Support you with necessary household duties such as cooking, cleaning and laundry activities.
- Support you to keep yourself and your environments safe, clean and healthy.
- Assisting in medication management or attending medical appointments. Please make sure you have provided clear instructions to enable the Support Worker to undertake this work safely.
- Supporting social, vocational and community activities
- Developing relationships in the wider community.
- Assisting in the development of care plans.
- Secretarial support and/or assisting with administrative functions.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Min Cert III qualifications in aged care, Individual support, Disability, community services, mental health, or a relevant field
- Administer Medication Certificate
- **Or **be a current Nursing student (should have completed Cert III equivalent placements)
- Demonstrated experience working in the Disability/Aged Care field
- Experience or ability to perform personal care work/household duties/social and community participation activities
- Fluency in a second language other than English will be an advantage
- Driver’s License, car and comprehensive car insurance
- Current Police and Working with Children Check
- First Aid Certificate
- Reference Check

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
