**A bit about the role**

Seeking procurement practitioners to join a centre led decentralised model, passionate about delivering the highest level of satisfaction to our stakeholders, projects partners and end users. A commitment to sustainable, social and best practice sourcing is front of mind, along with innovative category strategies and a commitment to supplier relationship management.

This role will be focusing on working with the teams that are responsible for major operational activities and projects in our expanding municipality. Partnering with business units, you will be supporting the teams with all their procurement needs, delivering an exceptional client experience.

You will be able to influence and educate in best practice procurement process, enabling our stakeholders with the skills and knowledge to deliver projects in line with council expectations. You will educate and provide innovative solutions to any challenges faced by your client groups, with support from management and direct line reports.

**What you’ll deliver**
- Lead the delivery of strategic sourcing across various categories, ensuring compliance with council policies, legislation, and regulations while procuring goods, services, and works efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Create and manage a supplier base, fostering mutually beneficial relationships that add value to the organization and its stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Oversee sourcing activities, ensuring that the procurement lifecycle is well-planned, risk-mitigated, and accurately documented.
- Encourage collaboration between procurement and a diverse range of stakeholders to align objectives and achieve successful procurement outcomes.

**What you’ll bring**
- Passion about achieving procurement outcomes and both leading and championing sustainable, social, and economic procurement & innovate sourcing and category strategies, as a trusted procurement partner.
- Previous exposure to strategic procurement with an understanding of category management principles, framework, and processes.
- Advocating, educating and mandating probity in all procurement activities within assigned portfolio remit.
- Tertiary qualification desirable but not essential in a related discipline, 3 years minimum experience in Procurement or Supply Chain management government and/or private sector.
- A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
