**Join Our Team as a Public Awareness and Education Coordinator**
**Skills & Experience**:
**Purpose of the Position**
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team in an ongoing role, reporting to the Director of the National Anti-Racism Strategy. This position plays a vital role in supporting our strategic initiatives by:
- Coordinating and implementing national public awareness and education campaigns that inspire understanding and action against systemic racism.
- Supporting the anti-racist efforts of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and individuals from negatively racialized communities.
**About the role**:
**Public Awareness and Education Initiatives**
- Design and deliver national anti-racism campaigns across multiple channels, aligned with the National Anti-Racism Framework.
- Develop robust consultation and community engagement strategies based on anti-racist and human rights principles.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of our initiatives to ensure impactful outcomes.
**Leadership**
- Set clear objectives and direction for public awareness efforts, advising key internal stakeholders, including the Race Discrimination Commissioner and Commission Executive.
- Provide strategic guidance on resource allocation to maximize the impact of our campaigns.
- Support and mentor team members to excel in their roles.
**Stakeholder Engagement**
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support our strategy.
- Regularly brief senior stakeholders on campaign activities, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with internal experts to ensure effective campaign delivery and leverage existing networks.
- Manage procurement and engagement with external suppliers in line with guidelines.
**Experience and Qualifications**
- Deep understanding of race, racism, and anti-racism in the Australian context.
- Proven experience in delivering successful public awareness and education initiatives.
- Background in providing communications support on sensitive issues within complex environments.
- Strong advisory skills for senior stakeholders, with superior written communication abilities across various media.
- Experience in promoting systemic change in a complex operating environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, marketing, or related fields are preferred.
