**The Role**

The roles include:

- Undertaking initial triage and detailed assessments of complaints to determine validity, identify potential harms, and recommend appropriate resolution pathways aligned with IGADF procedures.
- Interviewing complainants, respondents, and witnesses professionally, demonstrating trauma-informed and sensitive communication practices.
- Drafting concise, evidence-based reports and recommendations, ensuring adherence to the Australian Government Style Manual and IGADF formatting standards.

**About our Team**
The Directorate of Inquiries and Investigations supports the IGADF to deliver their statutory functions. The sub-directorates seeking officers:
**Assessments**
The Assessments team reviews and evaluates submissions and referrals made to the IGADF concerning the military justice system. Submissions may relate to the conduct of ADF members, administrative processes, or broader systemic issues. Working under the Deputy Director, the team conducts triage and detailed assessments to determine the appropriate course of action—such as referral, inquiry or other resolution pathways. The work promotes transparency accountability, and procedural fairness across Defence.

**Military Police Professional Standards (MPPS)**
The MPPS team manages submissions and referrals concerning the conduct and professional standards of ADF Military Police. The team is responsible for assessing these matters and, where appropriate, conducting inquiries into allegations of serious or deliberate policing misconduct to determine whether a Military Police member remains fit and proper to serve. The work upholds the integrity and accountability of Military Police conduct across the ADF.
- Demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and sound judgment suitable for sensitive oversight responsibilities.
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex outcomes to diverse audiences.
- Has experience handling complex or sensitive complaint, including those requiring a trauma-informed approach.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage confidential and sensitive information.
