Key Accountabilities

As the Regional Head of Travel, APAC and China, you will be responsible for the leadership and management of the top and bottom line results for AIG’s travel insurance and assistance portfolio in APAC and China. You will lead and manage the Travel business model concept with the required positions including: Underwriting, Product Development, Marketing, Distribution and Operations/Administration. You will also manage and maintain the responsibility and control of the coordination, communication and implementation of all Travel policies and works closely with regional management team and Global Travel leadership team to agree on and implement initiatives which maximize profitable growth strategies.
- Provide regional leadership in establishing requirements for APAC and China in accordance with Travel standards
- Develop top and bottom line budgets and develop necessary business plans to achieve desired results
- Strategically manage relationships with key travel distribution partners.
- Build and lead a capable and qualified team account managers and business development professionals who have the pulse of the major partners and high degree of market intelligence.
- Continually source and build new distribution channels to include both digital and non-digital media
- Ability to design and present compelling holistic business proposals for all existing and new partners that go beyond traditional insurance-based value propositions
- Lead and leverage the appropriate regional underwriting and product development team with the development of new products
- Supports the local and regional operation and IT in the development, implementation, and execution of the Travel priorities and continuously strive for simplification.
- Coordinate with Claims and Assistance management to develop Claims benchmarks and monitor the key measurements metrics
- Works with local and regional controller regarding all financial reporting (i.e. budgets, monthly/quarterly estimates/results, direct and indirect expenses, tracking reports and other financial issues)
- Manage expenses according to budgeted goals and cost reduction plans
- Seek opportunities to improve synergies and cross sell activities between other product teams, distribution channels and companies within the AIG
- Provide leadership in the recruiting, retention, training and development of key staff and succession planning
- Assure the compliance of local statutory /regulatory requirements

What we are looking for
- Minimum 10 years of related distribution, product management and/or general management experience inclusive of leading sales teams
- Demonstrable track record of successful client management and client acquisition of multinational partnership.
