About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
Work with and support the needs of vulnerable young people from diverse and complex backgrounds, including First Nations young persons, young persons with disability and young persons in care.
Support schools to interpret and enact departmental policies, practices and procedures relating to vulnerable young people to ensure they remain engaged in education.
Provide support to schools that will assist in the development and implementation of successful retention and transition strategies and programs that will improve the education outcomes for vulnerable students.
Collate confidential information, identifying needs and barriers to formulate the basis for activities required to support the young person's transition to the education or training pathway.
Forge links with external government departments, community agencies and training organisations to ensure young people in the youth justice system receive the appropriate support.
Assist Court Liaison Officers in supporting young people in the youth justice system to engage, or reengage, with education and training.
