We have an opportunity for a **Facilities Manager** to join our team on a six-month fixed-term contract with the potential for an extension. This critical role ensures our historic and vibrant venue's efficient operation, maintenance, and preservation.

**About the Role**

Reporting to the Precinct Director, the Facilities Manager oversees building systems, compliance, maintenance, and tenant relationships. A key aspect of this role is liaising with Brisbane City Council to manage regulatory compliance and precinct-related projects, ensuring Brisbane Powerhouse remains a safe, sustainable, and welcoming space for artists, audiences, and staff.

**Key** **Responsibilities**
- **Building Operations**: Manage the building management system (BMS), including HVAC, lighting, and energy systems, and coordinate timely repairs and maintenance with contractors.
- **Compliance and Safety**: Conduct inspections, implement regulatory recommendations, and maintain compliance with fire safety, pest control, and workplace health and safety standards.
- **Tenant and Stakeholder Management**: Serve as the primary contact for tenants, addressing concerns, managing billing, and liaising with Brisbane City Council on compliance and precinct-related projects.
- **Sustainability and Efficiency**: Implement energy-efficient practices, monitor budgets, oversee cleaning and waste management, and uphold high operational standards throughout the venue.
- **Heritage Preservation**: Maintain the integrity of the heritage-listed building, manage assets, and oversee equipment servicing and replacement to support operational continuity.

**To Succeed in This Role, You Will Have**
- Demonstrated experience in facilities management, building operations, and maintenance, including coordinating trades and contractors.
- Proficiency in managing building systems such as HVAC and BMS, with a solid understanding of compliance requirements related to fire safety, workplace health, and environmental sustainability.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency practices and sustainability initiatives and experience in budget management and cost analysis.
- Proven ability to plan and oversee scheduled maintenance, contractor activities, and operational projects within timeframes and budgets.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with tenants, manage multiple priorities, and respond to urgent issues promptly.
