**Position Information**:
Woodberry Public School was established in 1972 and and has 219 students in eight mainstream classes and five support classes. Of these students 44% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Our current FOEI is 181 and we have an attendance rate of 84.6%.

Woodberry Public School is proud of its outstanding teachers, support personnel and administrative staff who work closely with parents and the wider community to offer the best education to our students and the best possible support to our families. The school uses significant equity resources to optimise support for our students, purchase school resources and provide high impact professional learning to support the learning and wellbeing needs for all. We have a Schools as Community Centre (Woodberry Place of Friends) within our school.

Our school is beginning to implement the Explicit Instruction pedagogy. We operate within the Positive Behaviour for Learning Framework and utilise the Berry Street Education Model to support our students to develop social and emotional skills for success. Woodberry Public School has a strong focus on High Potential and Gifted Education and we work hard to ensure that our students have access to opportunities to develop their talents.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary, and

1. Demonstrated capacity to work successfully as part of the executive to lead, inspire and mentor stage teams.

2. Ability to lead curriculum reform, implementation and evaluation aligned with current evidence-informed practices in literacy and numeracy.

3. Demonstrated capacity to lead the successful resolution of interpersonal challenges involving students and/or parents and/or staff.

4. Proven ability to work in partnership with students, staff and families to build upon and enhance existing wellbeing systems and practices, including Learning and Support.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy**Conditions**:
