**Position Information**:
Our school is located in the suburb of Wallsend and has a proud history of having provided more than 150 years of public education to the community. We proudly acknowledge that we teach and learn on Awabakal land. The average enrolment is 195 with 29% identifying as Aboriginal and 12% as having a non-English speaking background. Aboriginal and EALD representation is steady across the last 3 consecutive years. School enrolment is traditionally affected by high rates of mobility and has, overall, been decreasing over the last 3 years.

The school has a strong focus on providing individualised learning opportunities for students to achieve. This includes significant access to technology, cultural experiences and alternative play opportunities.

Diversity is a key focus. Aboriginality, identity and the diversity of Aboriginal cultures are valued, respected and promoted to ensure Aboriginal students are attending, engaged and achieving. Non-Aboriginal students both share and engage in learning about Aboriginal culture, histories and experiences. The school has a collaborative relationship with the Muloobinbah AECG. The cultures, experiences and identity of students from non-English speaking backgrounds are valued and celebrated with a strong focus placed on supporting all students to achieve their full potential.

**Selection Criteria**:
1. Approval to teach infants and /or primary. Demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively as part of an executive team and effectively balance the dual roles of exemplary classroom teacher and Assistant Principal.

3. Proven capability to lead and evaluate evidence informed Literacy and Numeracy strategies that address the diverse needs of students.

4. Demonstrated excellence in organisational skills with a proven ability to lead and manage whole-school operations, including staffing, timetabling, and a variety of administrative systems, through complex problem solving, evidence-based decision-making, and the development of professional learning initiatives to support the implementation and evaluation of the school's Strategic Improvement Plan.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
