This position reports to the Director of Information Communications Technology.

**Role Overview**

As the ICT Infrastructure Manager, you will provide leadership and expert advice for the provision of ICT services and management of ICT Infrastructure and related projects at the School.

As with all professional services staff positions, this role is central to the operation of the School and supports student learning. All professional services staff have a firm commitment to their own professional learning. They support the values of the School and work together with the teaching staff to ensure the highest educational standards.

The position also contributes to the maintenance of a positive internal culture where service, integrity, kindness and humour are valued.

**Key Priorities**

Indications that this job is being done successfully would include:
Ensuring the day to day ICT Infrastructure needs of the School are managed efficiently and effectively, which will initially include, but not be limited to:

- Accountable for the technical competence of the ICT infrastructure team against the needs of Wenona, fostering knowledge sharing within the broader IT team.
- Working collaboratively with the Director of ICT, the Information Systems Manager and the IT Operations Manager to lead and develop ICT staff to ensure:

- a reliable and consistent service-first, customer focused experience is consistently delivered to all.
- Short and medium-term ICT operations are managed efficiently, effectively and sustainably, whilst also facilitating attainment of long term goals.
- Lead the ICT team in all technologies and concepts such as cloud, networking (wired, wireless and routing), and security.
- Undertake the role of Level 3 technical escalation point, as required.
- Establish ICT plans in consultation with the IT Director and peers to achieve sustainable business outcomes, including documentation, process improvement, benchmarking and delivering or procuring commercial services to meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
- Document, Report and Manage ICT Risk and Mitigation Strategies in consultation with the IT Director and peers.
- Ensure the School's on-premise and cloud hosted services are operating effectively and producing the required outcomes.
- Carry out other duties as appropriate and as required by the Director of Information Technology.

Project Management & Implementation, which will initially include, but not be limited to:

- Support the implementation of the ICT and Digital strategy at an operational level.
- Produce, review and critically evaluate business cases for complex ICT projects.
- Manage the delivery of ICT & Infrastructure projects to agreed time, budget and quality standards, plus communicate progress clearly and regularly.
- Work with the teaching and professional services staff to effectively automate existing processes, using workflow systems.

Security and business continuity
- Maintain an awareness of current security issues and trends, their impact on the schools infrastructure and other systems, research and implement technologies and controls to protect the school's information assets.
- Ensure ongoing operation and testing of the school's backup and recovery systems and procedures.

Technical Competencies
- Extensive knowledge in the following:

- Server based Operating Systems such as Windows and Linux.
- Networking Infrastructure and Routing Protocols such as BGP.
- Client based Operating Systems such as Windows, MacOS and iOS.
- Virtual and Cloud based Infrastructures such as VMWare, AWS and Azure.
- Ability to be a Level 3 technical escalation point.
- Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) services like Canvas LMS, Office365, and Google Apps for Education.
- Extensive experience of contemporary client and server technologies (Mac and Windows), networking and security, databases, virtualized environments and cloud services.
- Programming and scripting knowledge advantageous, specifically PowerShell.

**Education and Experience**
- Tertiary qualification in ICT or equivalent.
- Extensive hands-on experience and qualifications/certifications across a broad range of ICT Systems including e.g. administering Microsoft Windows Server and Linux servers, VMWare, Veeam Backup and Recovery, Amazon Web Services, Office 365 and Azure Active Directory.
- Demonstrated experience leading, managing and developing people in direct and indirect teams in order to manage work and resources across a range of complex projects.
