Head of Studio
**We are seeking a Head of Studio to join our Melbourne team.**
The Head of Studio is responsible for leading Movember’s in-house studio to deliver on the creative needs of Movember.
This includes:
**Studio and production management**
- Manage the day to day running of the Creative Studio; managing all studio operations, making full use of project management and collaboration tools to ensure the team runs efficiently and effectively.
- Optimise the studio’s briefing systems and job management processes that bring efficiency and organisation to brief owners and the studio.
- Set up and effectively communicate systems, workflows and service-level agreements (SLAs) to the wider organisation so they are aware of how the creative studio operates and so expectations are managed.
- Work closely with the Director of Brand and Content, Head of Creative and Global Brand Manager as required to ensure studio outputs are consistently on brand and of a high enough quality.
**Job/traffic management**:
- Act as the point person and gatekeeper for all briefs - this role is required to vet each brief (often alongside the Head of Creative) to ensure they’re considered, complete and contain achievable deadlines.
- Arrange and facilitate briefing, tissue and pitch sessions as required.
- Ensure jobs keep moving from brief to final delivery, ensuring jobs aren’t unassigned for extended periods, nor waiting on feedback for extended periods.
- Actively direct jobs that have been outsourced externally to freelancers or production houses.
**Resource planning and management**
- Manage team workflow, assigning briefs appropriately based on skillset and capacity to maximise efficiency and productivity.
- Effectively predict, manage and resolve capacity and skillset challenges within the team, recruiting additional freelancer creative resource as required to manage overflow or where needs can’t be met in-house (eg. illustration/animation)
- Manage and track the freelancer and production budget, as well as specific project production budgets.
**Asset management**
- Serve as the organisation’s champion for best practice asset management.
- Take overall accountability for managing Movember’s chosen digital asset manager (DAM).
- Ensure digital files are named and stored appropriately, keeping file permissions and usage rights up to date.
**Team leadership**:
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, supportive and trusting culture within the team.
- Develop the creative and digital producers within the studio, focusing on both their personal and professional development.
**For this role, you’ll need**:
- An in-depth knowledge of digital and agency project production in a creative environment, including a broad knowledge of project management methodologies.
- Experienced in developing, mentoring and managing teams.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines (a true plate
- spinner)
- Strong understanding of design principles, print and digital production.
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in digital systems to manage briefs, jobs and feedback, eg. Asana, JIRA.
- Well-connected in the creative industry locally to source freelancers, contractors and new suppliers.
- Experience in digital asset management.
**Desirable**:
- Well-connected in the creative industry globally to source freelancers, contractors and new suppliers.
- Experience in successfully implementing a new digital asset manager for a business.
**GOOD CAUSE**:
Working for **Movember**, you’ll help raise millions for men’s health (not for a CEO’s bonus). And all those dollars do a whole lotta good. We’ve funded cancer research. Created lifesaving medicines. And helped make cancer treatments less “one-size-fits-all”, and more specific to each patient’s needs.
We’re even calling for governments worldwide to get it together on men’s health. By meeting directly with policymakers so they change the systems that change men’s health.
**GOOD VIBES**:
The vibes aren’t just for Fridays - even though we start weekends early nine months of the year. Here, it always feels like something big’s about to happen. Be it an office-wide surprise birthday party (with cake) or an impromptu all-staff boogie.
Come the hairy season, the energy gets silly. We’re talking celebrity visits. Live stunts on-site for TV and radio. And when we hit a fundraising milestone, the office gong might even go off. And that means one thing: it’s conga time.
**GOOD CREW**:
Let’s just get this out of the way: big egos need not apply. We’re all about straight-up solid human beings out to do meaningful work. People who’ll help you reach career-best moments. And give you the freedom to get there the best way you see fit.
Hybrid remote working is the norm. And in the office, you can sit where you please. Who knows? On any given day you could even end up desk buddies with the man who started this all.
