Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Account Coordinator to join our team three days a week (you can choose your days). In this role, you will support the company owner executing PR campaigns, strategising activations, developing pitches, media outreach, and coordinating various clients’ PR needs. On the social side, you will be responsible for planning content for client accounts, coordinating photoshoots, using software to create Reels and schedule client content, and copywriting. This position is ideal for someone who has just finished Communications or Public Relations study, and has already worked in a public relations or social media role for at least a year, who is looking to expand their skills, experience different types of clients and projects, and is ready to take on responsibility and work independently. You will also get the opportunity to give back and work in the for-purpose/charity space, as our agency looks after several charity clients, pro bono (we don’t charge them).

Working Space and Operation:
You will be working out of a lovely, light-filled office in Claremont, that our agency shares with an events planning company.Three days will all be in the office to begin as we train/settle in, then expectation will be 2 days in office, 1 day WFH (or welcome to do three days in the office if you’re not set up to WFH) - can be flexible where required. Some days we may be on the road visiting media or clients, we also will sometimes work out of a members club in the city to mix it up. Where there is a media networking event in the evening, day time off will be given in lieu.

Key Responsibilities may include:

- Assist in the development and execution of PR campaigns and strategies.
- Assist senior team members in media relations - including crafting compelling press releases, media pitches and outreach to media
- Media calls/coffee meets with journalists and producers, media networking events
- Work on social media content creation and scheduling for clients
- Influencer relations including building client-appropriate influencer lists, coordinating influencer send outs and partnerships
- New business research and development
- Event support and coordination
- Track and analyse media coverage and provide insight led reports.
- Provide administrative support to the Owner

Qualifications:

- Has completed study in Public Relations, Communications, Social Media Marketing, or a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Google Docs, Google Drive, Dropbox, Canva or Adobe, and social media scheduling software (eg Later, Sked) - or willingness to learn quickly / do tutorials to get up to speed
- Proficiency in social media platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, Meta and TikTok

Schedule & Compensation:

- Part-time position, initially on contract then after trial position ends, switch to part time salary
- 8.45 to 5.00pm two days a week (with lunch break / coffee breaks as required), summer hours option available - 8.00 to 4.00pm - Dec - March. Moving to potentially 3 or 4 days a week after a couple of months.
- Two days need to be spent in the office in Claremont (ideally Tue - Thur), occasional work from home day OK, once days go up to 3 days, can do 1 x WFH day per week.
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
