**Who is the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator?**

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) commenced operations in 2013 as a national entity responsible for
regulating all vehicles in Australia over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. Located in Brisbane, the NHVR minimises the
compliance burden on the heavy vehicle transport industry, reduces duplication and inconsistencies across state and
territory borders, and ultimately for the heavy vehicle business with government in Australia.

**Environment**

Through leadership and influence, the NHVR administers a national system that delivers consistent and streamlined
regulatory services and administration to the Australian heavy vehicle road transport sector, reducing regulatory burden
whilst enabling greater safety and productivity.

The Regulatory Policy & Standards Division sets regulatory strategy, policy and standards, setting desired outcomes.
From this, standards are determined and subsequently delivered through operational activities to allow NHVR outcomes

to be achieved. The function also undertakes assurance activities to ensure the continuous improvement of the
regulatory program to enhance the safety and productivity of the industry.

**Primary Objectives**

enquiries and correspondence and assist in the coordination, preparation, and delivery of reports, dashboards, and
executive correspondence and document management.

**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities**
- To ensure a high level of discretion, diplomacy and judgement in responding to enquiries arising from the executive

team, senior managers, and other internal customers.
- Provide professional support and assistance to the Chief, senior managers, and other members of the Division.
- Communicate and liaise with senior executives from public and private organisations on a wide range of issues,

respect confidentiality and maintain effective working relationships.
- Provide administrative support to the Division as required.
- Ensure effective correspondence and document management processes.
- Prepare, facilitate, follow up and action all correspondence for the Division in line with correct templates, standard

wording and grammar to ensure deadlines / timeframes are met.
- Provide operational recordkeeping services (OneTree) within the Division.
- Ensure corporate card reconciliations are completed in accordance with standards set by Finance.
- Manage travel for the Division, including booking of flights, accommodation, and preparation of meeting

documentation for respective executives of the Division.
- Provide support in the preparation of workshops, meetings and training sessions as directed by the Chief and

Managers. This includes but is not limited to room set up, catering, minute taking etc.
- Provide support in the recruitment process as outlined by People, Safety and Culture Unit including but not limited

interview / room set up, contact with applicants post interviews, updating OneTree, etc.
- Work collaboratively and build strong relationships across the business support function team members to provide

quality customer service and timely business support services.
- Provide back up support for other business support officers and reception when required.
- Adhere to all NHVR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NHVR internal processes.
- Comply with WH&S policies and procedures and contribute and promote a safe and health work environment.
