**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
The Strategic Communications team is a dedicated team responsible for providing the external communications for Council and is committed to_ _providing high quality service to all stakeholders who include our Community, our Executive, the Leadership Group and all Council staff. The team provides timely advice and assistance to internal stakeholders on a range of communications functions.

Reporting to the Manager Strategic Communications, this position is responsible for the coordination of the Digital Communications, Marketing and Print Centre functions and delivering high quality communications and marketing outputs for Council.

This position works closely with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation to develop, implement and measure a multi-disciplinary, internal customer and community focused service and is accountable for the successful delivery of key strategies, projects and programs across the following functions:

- Digital Communications and User Experience
- Marketing, Advertising and Promotions
- Print Centre
- Brand management and implementation
- Social media

This role is an extremely ‘hands on’ position requiring a strong ability to manage multiple competing priorities of high importance to Council. Due to the nature of the role, some evening, weekend and public holiday work will be required.

The successful applicant will require:

- Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, or a related field
- Demonstrated Knowledge and experience in the management of corporate communications and marketing and initiatives and programs
- Advanced understanding of Web Accessibility and testing tools and experience in managing usability testing on prototypes or finished products to assess the quality of a user experience (UX)
- Demonstrated project management experience, including experience in overseeing complex digital communications and marketing projects and sound knowledge in planning, implementation and evaluation
- Advanced level of written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate with a range of stake holders
- Expertise in brand management, design and implementation
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and measure the success of detailed marketing and digital communication plans
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and oversee the creation of marketing materials for a range of media, including newsletters, website copy and social media content
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills, demonstrated ability to organise work, manage time, determine priorities and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to manage the production of high quality work within strict deadlines as well as working on multiple projects as part of a small multiskilled team
- Demonstrated experience to resolve problems using research, analysis and evaluation of information which may not be readily available
- Demonstrated ability to make judgements or recommendations based on advanced analytical thought
- Class C drivers licence
- Valid Working with Children Check clearance number (or ability to obtain).

**Position information**: This is a permanent, full-time position, working a 35 hour week, with access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement.

This role is located at Council's Merrylands office with occasional travel required across Council worksites and may be required to work across any of Council's work locations during their employment as required.

**Salary information**: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
