About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead PLAT AUX Services Technician to join our Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) T&C Department based at Osborne, South Australia reporting to the T&C Operations Manager - Hotel and Auxiliaries.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
You will be responsible for managing a team made up of Technicians and Maintenance Trade people, to Set to Work (STW) and Test the Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) ships systems according to the Engineering, Verification and Program requirements.
This role includes a 24 month secondment to the United Kingdom to work on the Type 26 frigate program, reporting to the Naval Ships Type 26 Trials and Commissioning Manager.
Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) T&C Department is organised into three different streams, T&C Planning, T&C Engineering and T&C Operations;

- The T&C Planning stream is responsible for ensuring the Maintenance, STW and test activities are planned and ready for execution.
- The T&C Engineering stream is responsible for delivering the required STW and testing documentation, as well as providing support to the T&C operational staff in the way of maintenance of the T&C documentation and major evolution project planning and management support.
- The T&C Operational stream is responsible for affecting the Operation, Maintenance, STW and Testing of the ships systems. The Operational stream is further distributed into three groups made up from six distinct disciplines;
- Hotel Services
- Auxiliary Services
- Hull & Deck Systems
- Power & Propulsion
- Integrated Systems
- Electrical Distribution

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of Technicians as they perform the STW and testing of the Auxiliaries elements of the HCF T&C Program.
- Provide expert technical services and promote a culture of best practice sharing and knowledge exploitation within own discipline.
- Responsible for the delivery of the completed Auxiliaries testing documentation to the verification team.
- Responsible for ensuring all of the HCF T&C tasks are safely conducted using processes and procedures that are compliant with WHS legislation and the BAE Systems SHE policies.
- Responsible for working collaboratively with the HCF T&C Operations Manager - Hotel and Auxiliaries to execute the T&C program scope, including identification of necessary skillsets, training/upskilling and cross training of resources to mitigate against single points of failure.
- While on secondment to the UK responsible for the day-to-day conduct of STW, testing, commissioning, maintenance and operation of the Auxiliaries elements of the Type 26 frigate program.
- Pass on knowledge gained on platform systems and equipment during UK secondment to other members of the T&C team.

- 10-15 Years Industry Experience
- 5-10 Years Management Experience
- Shipbuilding and marine systems
- Relevant Trade and or Tertiary Qualifications
- Strong Communication and Teamwork attributes
- Eligible to obtain a security clearance up to a level of Negative Vetting (NV1) or above
