**Who is the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator?**

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) commenced operations in 2013 as a national entity responsible for
regulating all vehicles in Australia over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. Located in Brisbane, the NHVR minimises the
compliance burden on the heavy vehicle transport industry, reduces duplication and inconsistencies across state and
territory borders, and ultimately for the heavy vehicle business with government in Australia.

**Environment**

Through leadership and influence, the NHVR administers a national system that delivers consistent and streamlined
regulatory services and administration to the Australian heavy vehicle road transport sector, reducing regulatory burden
whilst enabling greater safety and productivity.

Corporate Affairs is responsible for providing responsive services through a network of offices currently in Queensland,
South Australia and Tasmania.

Position Description | Social Media Officer

**Primary Objectives**

To deliver consistent and effective social media and communication for the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator to internal
and external stakeholders in line with the organisation’s strategic objectives and branding.

**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities**
- Create and publish engaging social media posts aimed to increase brand awareness and engagement of target

audiences.
- Respond to social media comments and instant messages with accurate, customer-focussed replies, sourced

from relevant divisions.
- Support the Manager Media and Communications to build and improve the NHVR social media strategy.
- Contribute innovative ideas to the NHVR social media and digital initiatives.
- Report on social and digital analytics to demonstrate their effectiveness and inform future marketing activities.
- Undertake other media and communication and stakeholder engagement activities as required.
- Adhere to all NHVR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NHVR internal processes.
- Comply with WH&S policies and procedures and contribute and promote a safe and healthy work environment.

**Skills and Capabilities**
- Demonstrated experience in developing creative and informative content across different channels, including

social media, websites, e-newsletters, blogs and podcasts.
- Ability to source, manage and edit information from a range of sources and present in line with corporate style

and values.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate organisational initiatives and projects successfully to stakeholders and

employees.
- Highly developed attention to detail with a critical eye for ensuring the co-ordination and alignment of multiple

campaigns with corporate style guides.
- Ability to deliver in a fast-paced, project environment, to prioritise tasks and respond to a range of internal and

external client needs.
**Qualifications and Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in media, communications or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of contemporary media and communication practices, including

social media platforms.
- Applies media and communications functional and technical knowledge and skills to perform the job at a high

level of accomplishment.
- Demonstrated ability in using the Microsoft Office suite, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, or similar tools

and platforms.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, negotiation and facilitation skills.
