As the Indigenous Governance and Policy Team Leader, to lead a specialised team dedicated to developing and delivering strategies that uphold our commitment to developing collaborative partnerships with First Nations stakeholders in the delivery of our project portfolio and other Powerlink activities across Queensland. You will also:

- Lead a dynamic team in creating, reviewing, and implementing policies that ensure compliance with the Native Title Act 1993, Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act 2003, Human Rights Act 2019, and Powerlink’s Reconciliation Action Plans.
- Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring the delivery of high-quality advice and services.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop impactful strategies and manage agreement-making processes with First Nations people.
- Produce high-level briefings, reports, and submissions that inform key decision-makers and support strategic objectives.
- Maintain strong relationships with government bodies to monitor and influence policy and legislation relevant to Powerlink’s operations.

**Your expertise**:

- A degree in law, archaeology, anthropology, social sciences, environmental science, or a related field.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams, delivering innovative and compliant strategies that foster strong relationships with First Nations communities.
- Ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally including other Powerlink teams and government departments, and the ability to liaise, consult and negotiate strategic and effective outcomes for Powerlink projects.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail in producing evidence-based reports.
- Deep knowledge of Aboriginal history and contemporary issues faced by First Nations peoples.
