The Rural Doctors Workforce Agency (RDWA) is a not-for-profit NGO funded by the South Australian Government and the Australian Government Department of Health. It delivers a comprehensive range of workforce support and services to medical, allied health and nursing professionals in rural South Australia. Recently celebrating its 25th anniversary, the organisation has built an enviable reputation by increasing access to healthcare for rural communities.

Working closely with the Executive General Manager who is the organisation’s marketing and communications strategy lead, the Communications Manager will execute on-brand communications, marketing and public relations campaigns and activities to deliver on the organisation’s strategic intention and drive performance against its commitments. Other key responsibilities of this newly configured and elevated role include:

- assisting managers and the Executive with story and testimonial content to potentially influence the career choices and job decisions of existing and new customers;
- supporting the Executive to promote new and current services to target audiences;
- planning and delivering high quality communications materials for multiple channels and audiences including assisting with the more effective use of digital media;
- contributing to a sustained campaign to retain and grow brand awareness and value with funders and key stakeholders;
- developing and managing the marketing and digital communications assets and brand with external design and media partners;
- devising and monitoring key performance indicators and identifying opportunities to improve marketing and communication activities.

Applications are encouraged from appropriately experienced communications management professionals preferably with qualifications in marketing, journalism or communications. Extensive experience in creative campaign development will be required along with a good understanding of effective practices and current trends in digital marketing and media. Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design and professional printing/publishing skills will also be important along with persuasive and confident verbal and written communication abilities. The successful applicant will be highly professional and ethical and possess a good financial understanding in order to achieve value for money.
